September 2025 Monthly Updates
Tune in for a monthly recap of August highlights for notable event and unique speaker insights
As August wraps up and a new month begins, we wanted to take this week’s blog opportunity to recap and revisit some of the highlights of this month starting off with our most notable events, and unique speaker insights:
Last month, several outstanding speakers hosted various educational sessions for our members to draw insights, learn, and ask questions which can be an amazing resource and opportunity for exposure for individuals working in that industry or thinking about pivoting. It’s a great way to capture first-hand experiences from leaders of dream companies or industries.
Tech Talent Wednesday Collaboration with Jobber
On August 27th, CITI co-hosted the first ever Tech Talent Wednesday event at the Jobber Toronto office, featuring speakers from Jobber, Wealthsimple, and Bit Complete. As CITI strives to strengthen its Toronto Chapter, hosting such an event from a new province was a pivotal move for CITI’s capabilities for event programming.
Product-led growth from a Director at ZayZoon
We had Spencer Goldade, Director of Product Operations at ZayZoon, present on product-led growth strategies including metrics, team alignment, and practical applications across the product lifecycle stages. He concluded by explaining that PLG makes organizations more organic and attractive by allowing products to drive user adoption and upgrades, with sales and marketing playing supportive roles.
Advancing Your Career with Mark Le Dain
In this Citi meeting, members shared personal updates and small wins before introducing Mark, who discussed his career journey from investment banking to his current role as Chief Revenue Officer at Fueled, a marketplace for energy equipment. Mark shared insights on career development, emphasizing the value of genuine curiosity, helping others, and showing authentic interest in a company's mission during job interviews, while also explaining how Fueled identified and addressed market needs in the industrial equipment space. The conversation ended with discussions about personal projects, health topics, and announcements of upcoming events including softball practice in Calgary and an in-person event in Toronto.

This event is hosted by Nik Magurov, CITI ambassador. You can register for it here:
On September 17, we have a session featuring three CITI members on the topic of ‘Growing your Career: Securing your Promotion’
Career growth rarely follows a straight path. In this panel, three professionals share how they’ve navigated pivots across industries and roles all while securing promotions and building momentum along the way. You will gain practical insights on positioning yourself for advancement and making bold career moves.
As we close out August, it’s clear this month was full of growth, learning, and connection for the CITI community. From our first Tech Talent Wednesday in Toronto to deep dives on product-led growth and inspiring stories of pivoting into tech, members had the chance to hear directly from leaders across industries and gain practical takeaways for their own journeys. Paired with summer socials that strengthened our community ties, August set the stage for even more momentum ahead. With September’s lineup of events focused on startups and career advancement, we’re excited to continue building spaces where members can learn, network, and take the next steps in their professional paths together.
