What’s new at CITI: Summer 2025

Careers in Technology & Innovation (CITI)'s blog has been revived, tune in for the latest updates and exciting changes made during summer 2025

Welcome to Careers in Technology and Innovation’s blog. After a year-long hiatus, we’re thrilled to say… we’re back! We’ve taken the past year to refocus, recharge, and rethink the kind of content we want to bring to you, and now, we’re excited to kick things off with a fresh new blog series.

Starting this week, you can expect weekly blogs, each falling under one of four unique categories: The Monthly, Member Showcase, Founder Message, Tech News and we’ll include special highlights every now and then! Whether you're here for updates, ideas, or just a good read, this is the place to stay connected with everything happening at Careers in Technology and Innovation

Let’s get this going 🚀

Website Revamp:

We’re thrilled to announce our website revamp. In case you’re a returning viewer, you might have noticed our website has gotten an upgrade! With a stronger cohesive design and greater UI experience, this website reflects the modern and up-to-date designs of today. Let us know if you feel the same way too!

NEW Tools:

To add to our member experience here at CITI, we’re all about establishing clean and strategic layouts to our resources and fortifying our professional image. We’re committed to helping every tech professional do the same which is why we have launched not one, not two…but THREE brand new tools to your career tool kit.

  1. Onboarding
  2. Career Worksheet
  3. Networking to Success

Each tool serves its own purpose and is designed to provide unique benefits once you’ve completed them! We especially want to spotlight the Networking to Success tool with a three week learning period followed by a three week period of implementing your new-found networking strategies, you will walk away with practical tangible tools to not only track your professional network, but to actually build it meaningfully from the ground up. Access all the tools here: https://community.careerintech.ca/c/networking-101/

Pivoting into In-Person

CITI also hosted our first ever IN-PERSON masterclass at Platform Calgary on July 24th! Typically, CITI always hosts them online but since wanting to pivot into a more in-person networking dynamic, we moved transitioned it into an in-person environment, you can check for photos here https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7356711490990559232

The CITI Team:

Tracy Crape has been a cherished part of the CITI family for a long time, serving as our dedicated Community Manager. His contributions have helped shape CITI into what it is today, and his presence will be deeply missed on the team. While we’re saying goodbye to Tracy in his official role, we’re so grateful he’ll continue with us as a community member. We wish him all the best in his next chapter and look forward to seeing him remain a vibrant part of the CITI community.

A new summer addition to the CITI team is Jessamine Li, the marketing and data intern that helps deliver content both internally and externally to the CITI community. She has been alongside the new website and media revamp also helping to revitalize CITI's newsletter and blog platforms.

What’s on the horizon:

As our name suggests, CITI stands for Careers in Tech and Innovation. As such, CITI is also developing new ways to become more innovative to enhance the user experience for our members. We aim to develop and strengthen every facet of career development, events, mentorship, and perks that CITI has to offer. As a result, our offerings reflect the changing tech landscape of Canada. What’s in the works? Company partnerships, new programs, and….artificial intelligence? Stay Tuned!
